Pianto della Madonna

Vyhledávaná maďarská sopranistka Zsuzsi Tóth (Collegium Vocale Gent, L´Arpeggiata, Vox Luminis, Tetraktys, Namur Chamber Choir, Nederlandse Bach Vereniging, Psallentes), a loutnista Jan Čižmář představí jedinečný program ze skladeb italských barokních skladatelů. Jejich písně vyprávějí ústy Panny Marie příběhy překypující projevy lásky, vášně, nářků i oddanosti – a to v duchovním i světském kontextu. Vedle jmen jako Kapsberger, d´India, Sances či Merula zazní také skladby z okruhu císaře Rudolfa II.

Jan Čižmář & Marta Kratochvílová

Jan Čižmář is working with flutist Marta Kratochvílová extensively since 2008. The combination of historical transverse flutes with lute- and guitar-like instruments makes it possible to perform a wide range of styles from the medieval times until romantic era and thus introduce concertgoers to famous hits as well as lesser known masterpieces of renaissance and baroque.

Music from the Strážnice castle collection

Since few years Jan Cizmar is occupied with exploring a musical history of one particular castle. Although the very rich collection of music and musical instruments itself is housed today in the Brno Museum Music Archive, its exact history is rather obscure. Except of the surviving materials of mostly unknown composers there is no direct evidence of the musical life at the castle. However it is clear that there must have been a rich musical life. The italian family Magni have brought with them many people from Italy, with this group had to come the instruments, some already written music and the musicians, who produced the rest.

Harrach collection

Harrach family were influential polititians and supporters of art. Their music collection is today dislocated in various places, including New Yourk Public Library, or the original location - Schloss Rohrau.
Jan Čižmář is making reseach into its items and in cooperation with various ensembles, libraries and castles pushes towards reacreating once flourishing musical enviroment.
